2016 Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll, Elite Players Watch List Announced

The Cougars rolled to a 50-9 record last season and finished fifth at the NJCAA Division II World Series. Only one position player returns in 2B Billy Lennox (.338, 7 2B, 25 RBI) and five pitchers led by RHP Carson Bach (10-0, 2 SV, 2.18 ERA, 80 K 44 BB) and Dalton Haymaker (7-1, 4 SV, 4.31 ERA, 19 AP).
But an impressive group of 22 recruits were landed, including SS Nick Fuhrmann (transfer from St. Joseph University), OF Alex Aristy (transfer from Santa Fe College), C Mark Martinez (transfer from Lackawanna College), LHP Andrew Scarpelli (transfer from James Madison), and RHP Brian Rourke.
"I'm extremely proud that these seven student athletes are being recognized as some of the top baseball players in the country and that they chose FCC to continue their academic and athletic careers," said FCC Head Baseball Coach Rodney Bennett (entering his 14th year with an overall record of 484-185). "A return trip to the World Series is our goal!"
