Skipjacks Sail Past Cougars in Nightcap
FREDERICK, Md. – The Skipjacks from Chesapeake College defeated FCC by the score of 13-5 in game two of the doubleheader. FCC is now 32-12 on the season including 11-9 in the conference while Chesapeake College improves to 25-17-1 including 8-9-1 in conference action.
FCC starting pitcher Marco Cardone was tagged with the loss and falls to 0-2 on the season. Thomas Gonzalez continues to tear the cover off the baseball. 'Gonzo' hit his fourth dinger of the year and is batting .359 on the season. He has 11 hits in his last 24 plate appearances.
The Cougars have a very important week ahead of them as they square off against three Region XX D2 foes. FCC will hit the road on Tuesday to take on CCBC Essex and will return home on Thursday when they host CCBC Dundalk. On Saturday, FCC will round out the week and travel to AACC to resume play as part of make-up from last weekend. All three opponents will be doubleheaders.
