Cougars Sweep Stars on Day Two Of Florida Trip
WINTER HAVEN, Fl. – The Frederick Community College baseball team hit the baseball field this morning before most of us had time to eat a bagel and enjoy our morning coffee! First pitch for FCC against Lansing Community College took place at 9:00 A.M. as part of a doubleheader. The Cougars would sweep the Stars by the scores of 8-7 and 8-5. With the two victories, FCC improves to 6-1 overall on the season. LCC falls to 4-2 on the year.
GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

FCC starting pitcher Nick Pantos turned in a nice outing on the hill. The hard-throwing right-hander picked up the win and improves to 2-0 on the young season. He tossed five innings, striking out five, and giving up just one earned run. James Beasley recorded the final six outs of the game to pick up his first save on the season.
The Cougars pounded out 10 hits in the victory. Freshman shortstop Jared Pine (3-for-4) led the hit parade with three hits. He also scored three runs. Teammate Eric Naylor (2-for-4) tallied a pair of doubles and knocked in three runs. Brady Harju went 1-for-2 at the dish and recorded two RBIs.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

FCC SS Jared Pine continues to set the table for the offense. The speedy leadoff hitter went 3-for-5 in the victory and scored two runs. He is batting .483 on the season. Teammate Logan Appel continues to swing a hot bat as he went 2-for-4 and recorded 3 RBIs. Eric Naylor and Brandon Austin chipped in with two hits each.
Brayden Coe picked up his first win on the season after relieveing starting pitcher Keagan McGinnins (4.2 IP, 4 ER, 4 Ks). Coe went 2.1 innings and gave up one earned run.
ON DECK
FCC will take on Kishwaukee College (3-2) on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 4:30 P.M.
