Baseball Concludes Spring Trip With a Pair of Setbacks
SANFORD, Fl. - A tough day on the diamond as the FCC baseball team wrapped up their 2018 Spring Trip. The Cougars dropped a doubleheader to Rowan College at Gloucester County by the scores of 11-0 and 10-6. FCC falls to 7-6 on the season. The Cougars will return to the diamond on Thursday (3/15) when they host Hagerstown Community College as they open up MD JUCO play.
GAME ONE
The FCC offense sputtered tallying just three hits in the game. Nick Pantos started on the mound for Cougars and took the loss. Pantos falls to 2-1 on the season. He gave up five earned runs in 1.1 innings. James Beasley pitched the final 3.2 innings before the game was called after five innings. Beasley gave up four earned runs and fanned five batters.
GAME TWO
The Cougars smacked 10 hits in the game led by a couple of long balls off the bats of Hayden Kissel and Jonathan Sanchez. Kissel, Brady Harju, and Mitchell Long each had two hits. Sanchez knocked in a pair of runs.
Keagan McGinnis (0-1)takes the loss on the mound for the Cougars. He went 4.2 innings giving up four earned runs while striking out three.
