Naylor homers twice to fuel Cougars win
DUNDALK, Md. – Have a day Eric Naylor! FCC's designated hitter was 'locked-in' at the dish as he led the hit parade, seeing the Cougar offense explode for 18 runs on 18 hits to earn the victory over CCBC Dundalk, 18-8. With the victory FCC improves to 9-7 on the season, including 2-1 in MD JUCO conference play. The Cougars will return to the diamond on Tuesday when the hit the road to take on the College of Southern Maryland. First pitch is set for 3:00 P.M.
Naylor (.362 BA) ripped the cover off the baseball in the win. He tallied four hits, including a double, and two dingers. Naylor scored three runs and knocked in six! Speedy leadoff hitter Jared Pine (.386 BA) continues his hot streak as he registered three hits while scoring three runs. Logan Appel (3B, 3 RBIs), Brady Harju (.365 BA), Hayden Kissel, Thomas Gonzalez and Brandon Austin (.333 BA) each had two hits. Mitchell Long (.353 BA) went deep for his second on the year in as many games.
Keagan McGinnis got the start on the hill and improves to 1-1 on the season. McGinnis tossed five innings and gave up seven hits, resulting in two earned runs. He fanned six in the victory.
