FCC baseball extends winning streak to five games
GLENVILLE, WV – FCC defeated Glenville State College JV in game two by the score of 9-2 to make it a clean sweep. With the victory, FCC improves to 16-10 overall and are winners of five straight. The Cougars will return to the diamond on Sunday afternoon at FCC for a doubleheader against Shenandoah University JV. First pitch is set for noon.
FCC pounded out 13 hits in the victory. Josh Greenberg went 3-for-4 at the plate. Jared Pine (.372 BA), Brady Harju (.345 BA), Mitchell Long (.333 BA), and Dillon Cooperrider each had two hits. Pine, Long, and Cooperrider each doubled. Long knocked in three runs in the victory.
Patrick Foster got the win on the hill for FCC. He threw five innings and gave up just two earned runs while striking out four batters. He improves to 2-2 on the year. Credit Teagan Staver and Chris Altopiedi for tossing an inning each out of the bullpen to hold the victory.
