Two Day Affair Falls In Favor of Cougars
CATONSVILLE, Md. – FCC took on Garrett College in Region XX D2 tourney action on Saturday afternoon. The loser of this game would be eliminated from the tournament. The Lakers jumped out early, however, FCC would swing their way to victory by the score of 10-8. The game was halted on Saturday night due to inclement weather and resumed on Sunday afternoon.

The Lakers plated four runs in the first innings thanks to some free passes and a critical throwing error. FCC would answer back two runs in the bottom of the first. The Cougars would explode for five runs in the third inning and the big blow off the bat of FCC's Eric Naylor. He tattooed a homer with the scored tied at six to put the Cougars up by the score of 9-6. For Naylor, it was his 12th dinger on the season.
FCC starting pitcher Keagan McGinnis went one inning and was relieved by Sean Clark. He would pitch 5.2 innings to earn the win and improve to 3-2 on the year. He struck out four and gave up just two earned runs in the outing.
When play resumed on Sunday, FCC reliever Brayden Coe came in to record the final seven outs of the game to pick up his third save on the year.
Hayden Kissel had himself quite a tournament. He went 3-for-5 in the win, including a triple to lead the FCC offense. Thomas Gonzalez and Dillon Cooperrider each had two hits. Naylor led FCC with three RBIs.
FCC moves on in the tournament to face CCBC Essex in the championship round.
