Cieslinski dazzles on the mound, Cougars top Raptors 12-1

GERMANTOWN, Md. – The Frederick Community College baseball team hit the road on Thursday afternoon for an important Region XX DII matchup against the Raptors from Montgomery College.

Heading into today's contest, FCC was 11-1 in division play, and the Raptors were 10-2. The Cougars took care of business early and often, defeating MC by the score of 12-1 in seven innings. FCC starting pitcher AJ Cieslinski continues to be lights-out on the hill as he won his sixth straight contest. The right-handed hurler tossed a complete game and gave up just one run while fanning six batters. His ERA is now sitting at 1.62. Congrats AJ! The lone run score today off AJ was his first given up over the last 28.1 innings. That is quite a feat.

The Cougar offense pounded out 13 hits in the win. FCC plated four runs in two different innings. Mitch Long is locked in and on a roll. The sweet-swinging lefty had three hits on the day, including a dinger. He scored two runs and drove in a pair. Priamo Lozada had one hit and he made the most of it. Lozada launched a 3-run homer and remains hot at the dish. Brett Stallings, Jacob Wetzel, Jacob Berry, and Brandon Austin each had two hits. Austin scored two runs and knocked in a pair.

FCC will return to the diamond on Saturday (4/20) when they travel to play CCBC Essex in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for noon.
