Region XX DII Tourney: Cougars Light Up Scoreboard In Convincing Win
WYE MILLS, MD – The weather Is heating up and so are the bats for the FCC baseball team. The Cougars laced up their cleats and came to play today as they were ready for the showdown against the #1 seed Chesapeake Skipjacks in the Region 20 D2 Final Four Tournament.
After putting up 16 runs in their opening victory over CCBC Catonsville on Monday, the Cougars ripped the cover off the baseball today as they scored 15 runs on 17 hits vs. #1 seed Chesapeake College Skipjacks en route to a 15-5 victory.
The Cougars got a ton of production from their top five hitters in the lineup and the "Fab Five" delivered when it counted. Brendan Long, Michigan Daub, Justin Acal, Brodey Neveker, and Nicco German went a combined 15-of 24 in the win. The Cougars pounded out a total of 10 extra-base hits in the victory. That is getting it done.
Max Proctor came to play today and turned in a solid performance on the hill. The righty tossed five innings and struck out eight batters, scattering just six hits. Proctor picks up the win and improves to 4-1 on the season. Jared Hurlburt came out of the bullpen to record the last nine outs of the game. He struck out five batters in the outing.
