SWEET 16! Antone's Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending In #9 FCC Sweep Over Raptors
FREDERICK, Maryland - The #9 Frederick Community College baseball team is one of the hottest in college baseball. The Cougars swept the Raptors from Montgomery College by the scores of 10-0 and 7-6 to extend their winning streak to 16 games. The Cougars are now 17-1 overall on the season! Wow!
Game 1
Ezekiel Gongola threw a shutout to lead the #9 FCC Cougars past Montgomery CC 10-0 on Tuesday afternoon in a key Region 20 matchup.
The Cougars secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning as all the fireworks took place with two outs. The offensive hit parade came from triples by Aidan Masters and Austin Massey, and a pair of singles by David Antone and Justin Acal.
Gongola got the nod for FCC and he turned a gem on the hill. He remains perfect on the hill with a record of 3-0. The hard-throwing righty scattered five hits over five innings while striking out five batters. He was pounding the strike zone all afternoon and gave up no walks.
The Cougars racked up 11 hits in the game. Antone and Massey each collected three hits to lead the FCC offense. FCC continues to play solid defense as they were error-free in the win.
Game 2
The Cougars won in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over the Raptors in the nightcap. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when David Antone's sacrifice fly scored the game-winning run to keep the winning streak alive.
Montgomery College scored four runs in the third inning, but the Cougars would answer with four runs of their own in the bottom of the frame to tie up the contest.
Daniel Leo started on the mound for FCC. The right-hander surrendered six runs on 11 hits over six innings, He struck out seven batters and gave up no free passes. Jared Hulbert came out of the bullpen in the seventh inning to pick up his second win of the season.
The Cougars tallied 10 hits in the win. Demetri Jamison, Antone, and Acal led the Cougar offense. Jamison went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a double. Acal and Antone each registered two RBIs.

FCC will travel to Shenandoah University on Thursday (3/24) for a DH. The first pitch is set for 3:00 PM.
