ENID, OK. – The Frederick Community College baseball team fell to Phoenix College by a score of 8-0 in a run-ruled decision in NJCAA DII World Series action on Sunday, May 29. The loss eliminates the Cougars from the World Series Tournament and concludes the 2022 campaign for FCC. The Cougars end the season with an overall record of 42-7. With the win, Phoenix College sits at 35-25 on the year.
In the loss, the Cougars had just four hits. Nicco German had a double while teammates Brodey Neveker, Brendan Long, and Brendan Kleiman each registered a base hit.
FCC starting pitcher John Cummings suffered the loss. He finishes the season with an overall record of 8-1. In today's start, he went 3.1 innings and gave up three earned runs.
The loss concludes an impressive 2022 campaign for FCC in which they reached the NJCAA DII World Series for the eighth time in program history. The Cougars will look to build on their success next season.
