Frederick Falls to CCBC Dundalk 65-45
The FCC Cougars men's basketball team faced a challenging outing against CCBC Dundalk on January 8, falling 65-45 in a Region 20 Division II matchup.
The Cougars got out to an early lead, scoring the game's first points. Frederick would build an eight-point lead midway through the first half, their largest lead of the game. FCC would find themselves trailing by 10 points going into halftime down 32-22.
Frederick struggled to find a rhythm offensively, shooting 33% from the field and 19% from beyond the arc, making four of their 21 attempts. Mike Davis was the lone bright spot for the Cougars, leading the team with 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for another double-double performance. Aiden Igwebe added seven points, and Kentavious Dancy chipped in nine points. The team's struggles at the free-throw line (25%) and turnovers (16 total) made it difficult to sustain momentum.
Dundalk bested Frederick on the boards with a 48-33 rebounding advantage, limiting FCC's second-chance opportunities.
The loss drops Frederick's overall record to 4-7 and their divisional record to 1-6 in Region 20 contests. The Cougars now turn their attention to their next game on the road against Montgomery College Raptors on Saturday, January 11, at 3:30 PM.
