FREDERICK, Md. – Game one of the doubleheader against Hudson Valley Community College saw FCC starting pitcher Nick Pantos strike out 15 batters. That would be tough to top. Game two starting pitcher Keagan McGinnis was ready to display his pitching arsenal. He would earn the victory on the hill leading FCC to a 7-1 victory to make it a clean sweep over the Vikings.
McGinnis was all business toeing the rubber right from the start. The lengthy righty went 5.1 innings to improve to 2-1 on the year. The jaw-dropping stat of the game for McGinnis is that 13 out of 16 outs recorded were strikeouts. He gave up three hits and three free passes in the dominating performance. Brayden Coe relieved McGinnis to record the final five outs of the game. He fanned three batters to shut the door on the Vikings.
Eric Naylor is swinging a hot stick in the middle of the lineup for FCC. He went 3-for-4 in the victory and is batting .414 on the year. Hayden Kissel and Josh Greenberg smacked two hits each in the win for FCC. Kissel is on fire at the dish and is hitting .339 on the season.
FCC (11-9 overall) will return to the diamond on Wednesday against Hudson Valley CC for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 11:00 A.M.
