Baseball locks up No. 1 overall seed in Region XX D2 Tournament after topping Allegany College of Maryland
FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Community College baseball team made it six wins in a row as they swept Allegany College of Maryland by the scores of 5-0 and 4-3 (10 innings) on Saturday afternoon. With the two wins, the Cougars secure the No. 1 seed of the Region XX D2 postseason tournament.
Game One
Nick Pantos (7 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 6 Ks, 0 R) is straight up dealing on the mound. He pitched a complete game shutout and gave up just two hits. He improves to 8-1 on the season and lowers his ERA to 3.05 on the year! The hard throwing righty has six straight wins as a starting pitcher. The Cougars scored all of its runs in the fourth inning. FCC registered seven hits by seven different players capped off by a 3-run homer off the bat of Brady Harju.
Game Two
Allegany took a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. The Cougars would plate two runs to send the game into extras. In the bottom of the 10th with the bases loaded, FCC's Brady Harju chopped a grounder in the hole of the left side of the infield for the game winner!
Big time credit to FCC pitchers James Beasley, Brayden Coe, and Teagan Staver. Beasley went five innings and gave up just one run as he relieved starting pitcher Keagan McGinnis. Staver picked up the win and improves to 2-2 on the year.
Mitch Long was the only FCC player with multiple hits. He was 2-for-4 (2B) at the plate.

FCC will return to the diamond on Sunday afternoon (4/29) when they host the Raptors from Montgomery College. First pitch is set for noon.
