FCC baseball team stays hot in 6-3 win over Lake Michigan College

AUBURNDALE, FloridaBrett Stallings is seeing the baseball very well at the plate. He tallied two more hits tonight as the Cougars defeated Lake Michigan College by the count of 6-3. The Cougars improve to 9-1 overall on the season.

Stallings is on a tear. He is hitting .394 and has 10 hits in his last 16 plate appearances. Teammate Justin Acal is just as hot at the plate. He ripped a double and knocked in a run in the win. He is hitting .419 on the season with an on-base-percentage of .538. Kyle Schofield turned in some quality plate appearances and recorded a hit and knocked in two in the win.

Riley Grant (1-0) turned in a stellar performance on the mound for FCC. He pitched four innings and gave up just one hit while striking out seven batters. David Gingras came out of the bullpen to record the final nine outs, earning his first save of the season.

On Deck

The Cougars will enjoy a much-deserved day off on Monday and return to the diamond on Tuesday with a DH vs. Lake Michigan College. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM.
