Lake Myrtle Beach, Florida –
The No. 13 FCC baseball team split with Lake Michigan College on Tuesday night. The Cougars took game one by the score of 7-3. FCC would drop game two by the score of 10-9. FCC sits at 10-2 overall on the season.

Game 1

FCC 7
LMC 3

The Cougars came out firing on all cylinders in game one. FCC smacked four hits in the first frame, highlighted by a 2-run double off the bat of Justin Acal. The Cougars would add a run in the second and third inning to earn the 7-3 victory.

Acal would finish the game with two doubles in the win. Teammate Brett Stallings is on a tear. He went 2-for-3 and is now 14-for-19 in his last five games. Priamo Lozada belted a double and knocked in a run. Jacob Berry would motor around the bases for his first triple of the season.

Nick Karlinchak started for FCC on the mound. The southpaw tossed 3.1 innings, striking out four batters, and giving up three earned runs. Ryan Berry came out of the bullpen to earn the win. He pitched 3.2 innings, giving up just three hits and no runs. Berry earns his first collegiate victory on the hill. Congrats Ryan!

Game 2

LMC 10
FCC 9

After spotting LMC three runs in the top of the first, the Cougars came roaring back in the bottom half of the inning. You can put it on the board…YES! Lefty Kyle Schofield hammered a grand slam to clear the bases! The Cougars would put a six-spot on the board in the first frame to regain the lead. For Schofield, that is his second long ball of the season.

The Red Hawks would not go away quietly. They would put five runs up in the top of the fourth to take a 9-8 lead. FCC would come back thanks to a Jacob Wetzel triple and a Brodey Neveker RBI single to tie up the contest, 9-9 after four innings of play.

LMC would jump ahead 10-9 in the top of the sixth after a two-out walk, stolen base, and single. Neveker would lead off the seventh inning for FCC with a single and advance to second base on an error by the leftfielder. He would be left stranded on second as the Cougars fall in game two, 10-9.

Neveker had a perfect day at the plate in game two. He went 4-for-4 and scored two runs. Schofield knocked in five runs while teammate Priamo Lozada recorded a pair of doubles. Jacob Wetzel chipped in with a pair of hits.

AJ Cieslinski suffers the loss on the mound for the Cougars. He falls to 1-1 on the season.
