Baseball Slugs Their Way To Sweep Of Lakers

McHenry, MD. – The No. 8 Frederick Community College Cougars traveled 132 miles to Garrett College on Friday afternoon for a doubleheader in Region 20 D2 action. The Cougars won both games and sport an overall record of 27-5, including 15-4 in MD JUCO action.

It was an absolute hitting clinic put on today by the FCC offense as they started swinging the bats right when they got off the bus. Here are the stats: 

  • FCC outscored the Lakers by a count of 47-8 in the doubleheader
  • FCC tallied 34 hits on the day
  • FCC registered their two highest run totals this season (21, 26)
  • FCC clubbed a total of 12 home runs today – two were grand slams (Acal & Antone)  
  • FCC has a total of 36 homers this season. The record for a single season in the HR category is 44 (2015, 2017)
  • FCC RHP John Cummings earned the win today in game one and is a perfect 5-0 on the season
  • FCC RHP Daniel Leo earned the win in game two and is a perfect 5-0 on the season. Leo struck out eight batters today and gave up just four hits
  • Demetri Jamison went 3-for-4 (HR, 7 R, 2 RBIs) - he has now hit safely in eight straight games
  • Aidan Masters went 3-for-6 (4 R, 5 RBIs)
  • Justin Acal went 4-for-7 (3 HR, including a Grand Slam, 5 R, 11 RBIs)
  • Brodey Neveker went 4-for-8 (1 HR, 3 R) – he has now hit safely in 11 straight games
  • Aidan Greaney went 2-for-6 (1 HR, 5 R, 3 RBIs)
  • Josh Wilson went 5-for-8 (1 HR, 6 R, 5 RBIs) – he has now hit safely in eight straight games
  • Nicco German went 3-for-6 (2 HR, 3 R, 4 RBIs)
  • Wyatt Miles hit a solo shot in game one – back-to-back with German
  • Spencer Rhoads went 2-for-3 in game one (HR, 3 R, 4 RBIs)
  • David Antone went 1-for-1 in game two with a grand slam!
