Super 7! FCC Baseball Rises In NJCAA D2 National Poll

FREDERICK, MD. - The Frederick Community College baseball team is ranked No. 7 as the National Office released the latest edition of the NJCAA D2 Baseball Top 20 Poll this afternoon. Winners of five straight, the Cougars are playing fundamentally sound baseball and getting significant contributions offensively and the pitching staff has been lights out this season. As a team, the Cougars are hitting .333 and the pitching staff boasts an ERA of just 3.71.

This past weekend was one for the record books. On Friday versus Garrett College, the Cougars hammered 12 home runs in the doubleheader sweep over the Lakers. The 12 homers in a doubleheader is a record for the FCC baseball program. The Cougars have left the yard 37 times and are just seven homers shy from tying the single-season record for the FCC baseball program. They also scored a total of 47 runs in two games against Garrett as the offense rolled in the sweep of the Lakers. On Saturday afternoon, the Cougars busted out the brooms and swept the Hawks from Hagerstown CC by the scores of 4-2 and 4-3. Solid outings by Riley Grant, Brendan Long, and Jared Hurlburt led the way for the Cougars!
