Frederick Community College Cougars women’s basketball closed out their season with a tough 77-50 loss to Chesapeake College at home. Despite a strong first half where the Cougars kept pace with the Skipjacks, a challenging third quarter saw them struggle to keep the momentum as Chesapeake pulled away.

Frederick Community College women’s basketball put up an intense fight but ultimately fell to Hagerstown Community College Hawks 59-52 in a closely contested matchup. The Cougars started off competitive, trailing by just three points after the first quarter and matching the Hawks’ scoring output in the second to keep the game within reach at halftime. However, a tough fourth quarter where FCC managed only five points proved the difference as Hagerstown secured the win.

Frederick Community College Cougars women’s basketball battled until the final buzzer but came up just short in a 61-55 loss to Howard Community College Dragons. The Cougars started strong, taking a three-point lead after the first quarter, but struggled in the second and third quarters as Howard pulled ahead. Entering the final period down by 15, Frederick mounted a furious comeback, outscoring Howard 18-9, but ultimately ran out of time.

Frederick Cougars women’s basketball fought hard to secure a 57-49 victory over Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawks Club Team, snapping their losing streak and improving to 4-10 on the season. The Cougars came out strong in the first half, building a lead with a 12-point second quarter, and held off a late push from the Riverhawks to close out the game at home.

The FCC Cougars women’s basketball team faced a tough test against a nationally ranked SUNY Niagara Thunder Wolves squad on January 18, falling 91-39 at home.

Despite being out-rebounded 63-45 and facing challenges from Montgomery’s aggressive defense, the Cougars mounted a thrilling fourth-quarter rally, scoring 21 points in the final frame.

After falling to Monroe University on day one of the MC Tipoff Tournament, the FCC Cougars women’s basketball team bounced back to defeat Delaware Technical Community College 47-44 on the second day of the tournament, led by Laysia Jemmott, who posted a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds.

On July 29, 2024, Rodney Bennett, Director of Athletics, announced that Lynn D. Ramage was hired as the Head Coach of the Frederick Community College Women’s Basketball Team for the 2024-25 season.

Nine Frederick Community College student-athletes were honored by the NJCAA as members of the 2023-2024 All-Academic team for outstanding achievement during the 2023-2024 academic year. The announcement was made on Thursday, July 18.
